Update-ish Things!

Since I've found myself with this rare day between emergency deadlines to catch up (or try to at least make a *tiny* dent...) I wanted to give as many updates as I can, because I know you guys have been emailing me LOTS of questions about all the fun stuff coming up for NIGHTFALL's release. So here are some answers:
When is NIGHTFALL coming out? November 7, 2017 (FYI, this information is also listed on sites like amazon or B&N, which will get you a much faster answer than emailing me). And no, it cannot come out any sooner. Alas, alack.
Will there be a pre-order giveaway this year? Yes! I don't know what items will be given away yet, but it will be awesome stuff, I promise! And for those who haven't done one of the giveaways before (or have forgotten how it works) I'll be posting all the instructions when the giveaway actually begins, as well as the form you'll need to fill out sometime in mid October. For now, the only thing you need to know is that all pre-orders will count, so if you've already pre-ordered a copy--or do so any time between now and 11/6/17--you'll be able to fill out the form once it's posted and sign up for your goodies.
When and where will the launch party be? I don't know yet! It's still all being arranged. I promise as soon as I know I will make sure you guys hear about it so you can mark your calendars!
Where are you going on the NIGHTFALL tour? (and can you please come to my city???) I actually don't know where I'll be going on tour yet. My publisher chooses the cities for the tour stops, and I don't get the list until everything is scheduled. I know they're working on the tour now so I should hopefully be getting the list in the next few weeks, and as soon as I do, I promise I will post it on my website and social media. So make sure you either follow me on Twitter / Facebook / Instagram or check my EVENTS page every so often, or sign up for my newsletter HERE (or better yet, all of the above!) But sadly, since my publisher chooses the event locations, I have no control over whether I'll be coming to your city. The best I can say is, "hopefully!"
I signed up for your newsletter--but I haven't gotten one yet. Did I do something wrong? No! The reason you haven't gotten a newsletter is because I haven't sent any since last year. I try to save the newsletters for when I have important update-ish things right before launch. So there will be at least a couple coming up in the months ahead, once I have the pre-order giveaway ready and have tour dates to share, etc.
Will I be able to get the Barnes and Noble EXCLUSIVE LIMITED EDITION of NIGHTFALL at any of your tour events if they're at a B&N? This one's a little tricky because the honest answer is, "I don't know." I'm definitely hoping there will still be copies of the Exclusive Edition left, but the challenge is, it's a "limited edition"--meaning they're only printing a certain amount and once they're gone, they're gone. And people have the option of pre-ordering them through the B&N website right now (and have been ordering them like hotcakes). So there is a *chance* they could sell out before any of my events. But they also might have plenty. The best advice I can give you is, if you really want to make sure you get the exclusive edition, I'd recommend preordering one. And if you're scratching your head thinking "what exclusive edition?" go HERE to learn more about it.
Will the Keefe short story in the EXCLUSIVE LIMITED EDITION of NIGHTFALL be posted on your website, for those of us who don't/can't buy it? Eventually, it will be. But since the edition is an "exclusive" edition, I won't be able to share it for a while. I'm not totally sure how long--but my best guess would be a year. I promise, as soon as I'm able to, I'll make it available to everyone, but I also have to follow the rules until then.
I tried to ask you something on Tumblr and/or Goodreads and couldn't figure out how to do it anymore. Did something change? Yes, unfortunately, I have turned off both of those features. It was a SUPER hard decision for me, because I love being able to interact with my readers, but the hard reality is... I'm drowning over here. The KEEPER books are so long and complicated to write--and I'm trying to keep up with a one-book-per-year schedule (and not have them come out even slower than that). And unfortunately that doesn't leave time for much else (including sleeping for me). I kept hoping I would find a way to catch up and then be able to spend a few days working through the backlog of questions. But I've had to admit that I'm never going to catch up--and there are thousands of questions waiting for me, and it would take weeks to work through them all (and more kept coming in). So I turned off both features and sadly had to delete all the pending questions too, because I don't have time to go through them. I promise if I ever do catch up, I'll turn the features back on again, but in the meantime please don't take it to mean I don't like communicating with you. It's a simple matter of, "there aren't enough hours in the day." Please take pity on this poor exhausted writer.
I wrote an email or letter and haven't heard back--are you ignoring me?? I promise I'm not. But as I just said, I'm drowning. I get thousands and thousands of emails/letters every year, and it's been impossible to keep up with them all. I am still trying to work through them, but I'm more than a year behind (and not every email / letter gets a response. I explain why in my contact page HERE.) I'm truly doing my best. Please don't think I don't care.
Will you be posting teasers / character art on social media like you did last year????YES! Starting in September I'll have all kinds of fun things to share. Only a few weeks to go before that fun begins!

Phew, I think that covers the bulk of it. And I know a lot of it isn't actually an answer. What I really hope you take away from this is that you haven't missed anything important, all the fun stuff is ahead, and I will do my best to keep you all updated as soon as I have the real info to share. In the meantime, thank you for your enthusiasm and for reading my books and for being the best. readers. ever!!!

  1. I've gotta say, the allure of a limited edition actually caused me to break the habit of waiting for paperback versions, haha. I'm so excited!
