The NEVERSEEN Superfan giveaway!

Yay--the time has come for my favorite (and last) giveaway of 2015--THE NEVERSEEN SUPERFAN GIVEAWAY!

I know some of you have been waiting ever-so-patiently for me to get my act together and get this organized (sorry for the delay--my travel schedule pushed everything back a couple of weeks). But I'm caught up and I'm ready and I have five awesome prizes. BEHOLD:

In case you can't tell, those are five (yes, FIVE) signed hardcovers of NEVERSEEN, all featuring hand drawn panakes blossoms (done by me, using prismacolor pencils, so they look even more awesome in real life). Which means there will be FIVE winners who will get one, (and yes the books can be personalized if you would like)

Since these are very special, very time consuming prizes for me to make, I want to make sure they go to true fans of the series. So like I've done in the past, I'm going to make you guys put in a *little* extra work to enter--but I've still done my best to also keep it as simple as possible and make a way that even those who haven't bought (or read) the book can still enter. AND, the advantage to this is, if you really really really want one, there are a lot of ways for you to get a TON of entries and increase your chances of winning.

So here's how this works.

To enter, you MUST complete these two simple steps.

STEP NUMBER ONE:

You must either:

  • Post a review of NEVERSEEN on amazon / goodreads / B&N / youtube / your blog or website / ANYWHERE ELSE YOU POST YOUR REVIEWS. And no, this doesn't mean you have to write a glowing, five star review (though of course you are WELCOME to). All that matters is that it's an honest review
  • Tweet / Instagram / FB / tumblr / pinterest / google+ / or ANY OTHER WAY YOU ATTACK THE INTERNETS with a photo of NEVERSEEN somewhere in the wild (could be your own personal copy in your hands, or a shiny copy on display in a store or library--doesn't matter to me. And if the store you go to is sold out, you can always request they bring in another copy. In fact, I would love you FOREVER for doing that because it helps get books back on the shelf faster!)*
  • Tweet / Instagram / FB / tumblr / pinterest / google+ / ANY OTHER WAY YOU ATTACK THE INTERNETS with your own KEEPER series fan art (Anything goes here--feel free to be as creative as you want. You can post drawings, quotes, crafts. baked goods, anything you dream up.)*
You only have to do one--though you are welcome to do as many as you want. I'll reward you with an extra entry for everything you do (and every social media platform you post it on--each one counts for an extra entry). The only requirement is that it must be NEW. If you've posted fan art, photos of the book, or reviews in the past--thank you! (no really, THANK YOU) But if you want it to count for the contest you'll need to do something new during the contest time period (December 16, 2015 - January 3, 2016). That's why I've given you three different options and count so many social media platforms--surely there's somewhere you can post the review again or something else you can do to enter.

*feel free to tag me in any of these things, to make doubly sure I see them. My instagram / twitter handle is @SW_Messenger

Once you've done whatever you'd like to from the list above, you'll need to let me know what you did so I can count your entries accordingly. Which brings me to:

STEP NUMBER TWO:
  • You MUST fill out the form at the bottom of this post, along with links to anywhere you posted the pictures/reviews. Form must be filled out by 11:59 pm pacific on Sunday, January 3, 2016

Step two is an absolutely essential step, because it's the only way I will see your entry. So don't forget to fill out the form. And International entries ARE accepted.

Winners won't be posted anywhere, nor will they be contacted prior to mailing. You'll know you're a winner when your prize shows up (and if it doesn't, then sadly you didn't win). So triple check to make sure you enter your mailing address correctly because it'd be a shame for your prize to get lost in the mail.

I'm pretty sure that's everything, but if I missed something you are welcome to ask in the comments. Just make sure you ask those questions in the comments section on my website and not on goodreads or any of the other places this blog feeds out to, because I won't see them if you post them anywhere else)

**Form has been removed now that the giveaway has ended. Thanks to all who participated!**

  3. I was wondering if to enter we actually had to go buy a new copy of Neverseen, or if we did a pic of it in the wild we could do it with a previous copy

    ReplyDelete
  4. Can I post a picture of neverseen on my kindle?

    ReplyDelete
  5. If we win, then by when will our prize come in?

    ReplyDelete

    1. They'll go in the mail by 1/5/16. From there, it'll depend on the USPS and how far away you live.

  6. Does it count if we post the same pic but on several different sites? If so would you mind if I took pics of neverseen in 100 different places then posted them on 3 different sites?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, the same pic can be on several different sites. And there's technically no limit to how many entries you try for

      Delete
    2. I know not technically but would you be slightly annoyed?

      Delete
    3. I think if anyone were to get annoyed, it would likely be your followers, growing tired of that many pics of the same book.

      Delete
  7. Can any of us kids do something to ear extra entries? I don't have a Facebook account... or a Twitter account... or anything else you listed! But I do have a blog. Anything I can do?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You can post any of the three options on your blog. That's why it says, "any other way you attack the internets" because I couldn't list EVERYTHING. You could also choose to have your parents post it through their account. Or post reviews to amazon and B&N

      Delete
  8. At the end can you please tell us how many entries there were!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Probably not. The form treats each entry individually so even I won't really know the total number.

      Delete
  9. Would it still count if we posted different pictures but on the same website?

    ReplyDelete
  10. What about the same picture and same website but different places on that website?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm not sure what this means. Most of the things I listed only have one place to post things.

      Delete
    2. Does the picture count as one entry or does the website you posted it on count as one entry

      Delete
    3. Like in google+ you can post it on your page and our own page. Does that count?

      Delete
    4. The picture and the website both count IF you do more than one. So if you post one pic on Facebook, for example, that's only one. But if you post the pic on Facebook and twitter, that's 2. Or if you post two pics on Facebook, that would be two.

      Delete
    5. And posting anything on my page / wall (Facebook or Google +) doesn't count. Only what you do on your own accounts.

      Delete
    6. Thanks! That was VERY helpful!

  11. Does it have to be the actual Neverseen book, or could it be another one if the series if you're a newcomer? (Just got bk 2 yesterday!!!)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, it does have to be Neverseen--but it doesn't have to be a copy you own. You could take a picture of a friend's copy, or the book for sale at a store or on the shelf at the library.

      Delete
  12. The Barnes and Noble website won't let me copy just my review. What do I do so you know the review is mine?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Just link to B&N and say which name your review is under

      Delete
  13. *Unnecessary screaming* My friends are going to have a hard time talking to me at school because I'm going to be drawing SO many pictures!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Are we allowed to draw quotes and post those??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yep--it lists quotes as an option right in the instructions

      Delete
  15. Is the choosing random, so the more entries the higher the probability is, or do you personally choose from all the entries?

    ReplyDelete
  16. YAY! I'm going to be drawing like crazy!

PS: Don't you think Swan Song would be an awesome name for book 5?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Can I post the same picture on two different google plus accounts? Thanks!!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Sure, as long as they're both real accounts (and not a fake one set up just for the contest that'll be deleted afterward)

      Delete
  18. Ive got a few questions. If we draw a picture of something that isnt super directly related to KOTLC, (for example, a tree that looks like a panakes that i imagined, a black swan) would it still count?
-Does the fanart have to be from scenes of NEVERSEEN or can it be from other books?
-If its fanart we made before the contest started but havent finished, can we finish it and then post it? also, if we made it before the contest started, but havent posted it, can we sill enter?
-If its something TOTALLY out of the box, could we take pictures of things we made and post it online?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Things like the panakes and the black swan are super directly related to KOTLC. Anything mentioned in the books counts. And no, it doesn't have to be from NEVERSEEN. That's why I said "Keeper series" fan art. And yes, finishing existing fan art and posting, or posting things you'd never shared before count. And you can post anything you want--if it's too outside the box (not even sure what that would be) then that particular entry might not be counted when the links are cross checked, but again, as long as it has anything to do with anything in KEEPER it's good. Feel free to be creative.

  19. Are we supposed to just on the form copy paste the URL or make it into a link?Cause I can't figure out how to link it

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes--the form converts them all to links for me once you submit. Just copy and paste (and make sure you leave a space between each link if you're including more than one)

      Delete
  20. Will we even get an email if we win? If not, why do you need our emails?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You won't get an email just to let you know that you won--but sometimes people fill out the form incorrectly (they'll forget to include parts of their address, forget to tell me who to personalize the book to, etc) and if they win, I would email them to try to clear that up before I send off their prize. That's why I ask for everyone's email address because I don't know who will end up one of the random winners.

      Delete
  21. Can you post the same piece of fanart on multiple Pinterest boards to get multiple entries?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No. I'm trying to avoid things where there could essentially be an infinite amount of people just doing the same thing over and over and gathering entries. So with something like new pinterest boards--technically someone could just keep clicking "create new board" and re-pinning over and over, and that shouldn't count for the same amount of entries as someone who did separate drawings or posted reviews on a bunch of different websites. I want you guys to have ways to get lots of entries, but I also want to keep it fair so that those working hard to get their entries don't feel like others are cheating, if that makes sense.

      Delete
    2. Yeah, that definitely makes sense. Thanks!

      Delete
  22. So do we just copy the web address onto the form? I'm kinda confused because when I copy and paste the web address onto another tab, it takes to the place, but it's inside my account. Does that make sense?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Try to find the best link you can (there's usually a way to get a link to the actual tweet or pin or tumblr post or whatever). If you can't find it, send the next best thing and my assistant should be able to figure it out from there.

  23. Hi Shannon

I am so excited. This is so cool. By the way if I wanted to get signed book plates how would i go about doing that. I love your work. Your books really inspire me.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I only give out signed bookplates during various contests, like the Black Swagday giveaway or the Pre-order giveaway (both of which have now ended for the year).

      Delete
  24. This might be kind of confusing, but I'll explain it as best I can:

When we fill out the form and post multiple links for one of the options, would the entire form count as one entry, or multiple? And if it would only count as one would we have to fill out multiple forms with one link on each?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You only need to fill out the form once and list all of your entries in that post (or, if you do more after you fill it out, you can fill it out again.) My assistant will be taking it from there, making sure everyone gets the proper # of entries in the drawing.

      Delete
    2. Okay, awesome, thanks!

      Delete
  25. So, if one were to post the same picture on, say, three websites - would it count as one or three entries?

    ReplyDelete
  26. So when I add quotes as fanart, does it have to be our own drawing/writing of the quote, or can we take a quote from the internet and post it on our site?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Posting something someone else made doesn't count. You need to make it yourself.

      Delete
  27. Would you actually look at what we draw?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'll be looking at some of it (especially the things I get tagged in on Twitter and Instagram.) But not all. My assistant usually sends me a sample of all of her favorites. I wish I had time to check them all, but there have been thousands of entries and I am on a very tight KEEPER #5 deadline at the moment so there just aren't enough hours in the day

      Delete
  28. I have a question!
If the same person is chosen two times (if they had multiple entries), would they win two books?

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No, a new winner would be chosen (that's why it says there will be five winners)

      Delete
  29. Just curious, why won't you post the winners?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Privacy issues. A lot of people entering are kids, and it wouldn't be safe to post their names online. (I'm assuming you understand since you're commenting anonymously). And if I just posted first names I'd get 10,000 comments from people with the same name going, "It says Melissa--IS THAT ME???" So the winners know they're winners when they get their prize

      Delete
  30. I already filled out the form but forgot to make the links become hyperlinks will my entry still count?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Will the choosing be completely random or will the content of the entries matter?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. As I've said in other answers, my assistant will be choosing at random after tabulating all the entries.

      Delete
  32. I didn't get to post it in time, so even though I know I won't get anything for it I just want to share the link :)
My website is and just go to the KEEPER SUPERFAN! page to view. It would mean soo much if anyone (and I mean aannyyyooneeee) checked it out, or the rest of my site. Thank you so much!!!
    xo Jamie

  33. I keep seeing your doodles in the hardcover books of KotLC on Instagram and Twitter, and my, they are gorgeous! I've been meaning to ask you, do you do those for fun, or are you giving them away? (I remember that one of your captions mentioned that they were gifts.) Happy New Year!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The interior illustrations I've been posting, (inside the hardcovera) have been for a gift I'm making for someone very special to me. I have no plans to make more of them for a giveaway at the moment, mostly because each one takes 6-8 hours and that's a bit too time consuming for me to offer up as a prize.

      Delete
  34. I don't *think* you answered this already, but, in one of your answers to questions or in the rules, I forget which, you mentioned that winners will not be notified prior to shipping - will they be emailed AFTER they were chosen, saying, "You won and you're package is on the way!"?

-Soooooooo sorry if you already answered this

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I usually don't email people (mostly because it seems to generate confusion for some reason.) But this time my assistant did send out an email to the five winners to let them know. So if you got one--yay. And if not, alas. I'll try to hold another giveaway in the future.

      Delete
  35. You sent emails out? Dang. I didn't get one. 506 entries for nothing.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Alas, alack. From what I hear, there were thousands and thousands of entries.
