MMGM Links (7/31/17)

This revision deadline is even more brutal than the drafting deadlines, so yet again I am throwing the MMGM links together super quickly and hoping they're not a mess.

But before I get to that, I do have one quick update (and I promise, I will have lots more NIGHTFALL updates in the months ahead)

In case you haven't seen this on my social media, Barnes & Noble is selling an EXCLUSIVE Limited Edition of NIGHTFALL this year, featuring some super-fun bonuses. The endpapers will be printed with a special illustration I've drawn (if you've ever seen the sharpie-ed up books I've posted on Instagram, you have some idea of what that will look like). And there will also be a special short story in Keefe's POV (!!!) which may or may not shed some light on exactly how he feels about Sophie, among other hilarious things.

I'm told the special edition will be available in B&N stores after 11/7  BUT, it is also a limited edition--and pre-orders have been selling crazy fast (like, CRAZY fast. It was the #1 book on the B&N website for most of last week. I'm kind of in shock). And once they're sold out, they're gone. So if you want to make sure you get one, I'd recommend pre-ordering. Go HERE if you want to do that (or just learn more about it).

And now, on to MMGM!
- Justin Talks Books is back to discuss  IT CAME FROM BENEATH THE PLAYGROUND.  Click HERE to see what he thought.
- Carl at Boys Rule! Boys Read! is sharing some of his favorite sports books. Click HERE to see why.
- Greg Pattridge is singing praises for MOON SHADOW. Click HERE to read his review.
- Completely Full Bookshelf is recommending UPSIDE DOWN MAGIC. Click HERE to see why.
- Rosi Hollinbeck is reviewing--and GIVING AWAY--THE TAPPER TWINS TAKE NEW YORK. Click HERE to find her review.
- Bookish Ambition is featuring THE INVENTION OF HUGO CABRET. Click HERE to see what they thought.
- Joanne Fritz always has an MMGM for you. Click HERE to see what she's talking about this week
- The Mundie Moms are always huge supporters of middle grade. Click HERE for their Mundie Kids site.
- Shannon O'Donnell is back--and planning a weekly MMGM again. Click HERE to see what she's talking about this week.
- Karen Yingling also always has some awesome MMGM recommendations for you. Click HERE to which ones she picked this time.

If you would like to join in the MMGM fun, all you have to do is blog about a middle grade book you love on a Monday (contests, author interviews and whatnot also count--but are most definitely not required) and email me the title of the book you're featuring and a link to your blog at SWMessenger (at) hotmail (dot) com. (Make sure you put MMGM or Marvelous Middle Grade Monday in the subject line so it gets sorted accurately--and please don't forget to say what book you're featuring) You MUST email me your link by Sunday evening in order to be included in the list of links for the coming Monday. (usually before 11pm PST is safe--but if I'm traveling it can vary. When in doubt, send early!) (Also make sure the post you send me is a new post, not one from earlier in the week. I try to keep the content fresh)

If you miss the cutoff, you are welcome to add your link in the comments on this post so people can find you, but I will not have time to update the post. Same goes for typos/errors on my part. I do my best to build the links correctly, but sometimes deadline-brain gets the best of me, and I'm sorry if it does. For those wondering why I don't use a Linky-widget instead, it's a simple matter of internet safety. The only way I can ensure that all the links lead to safe, appropriate places for someone of any age is if I build them myself. It's not a perfect system, but it allows me to keep better control.

Thank you so much for being a part of this awesome meme, and spreading the middle grade love!

*Please note: these posts are not a reflection of my own opinions on the books featured. Each blogger is responsible for their own MMGM content and I do not pre-screen reviews ahead of time, nor do I control what books they choose. I simply assemble the list based on the links that are emailed to me.
