MMGM Links (1/30/17)

Okay, first: I know I'm getting LOTS of emails and tweets and comments from you guys asking when I'll be revealing the title of KEEPER 6, and the cover, and when the official release date will be, etc, etc, etc. (LOVE the enthusiasm, by the way).

But the truth is ... I don't know.

The cover art isn't done. I've seen rough comps (and no, I can't tell you anything about them, other than that I LOVE them) but the artist is still finishing the piece. So I have no idea when the final cover will be ready.

And the release date is hard to know because I'm still writing the book.

As for the title--that I will hopefully be able to share soon. I've already been given permission by my publisher. But the thing is... there have been so many huge things going on in the world lately--things that have many people feeling either upset or scared or confused--that it feels a bit insensitive to be like, "by the way--here's my new book title!" So I'm kind of waiting for a moment when it won't feel so shameless to share that kind of news. Not totally sure when that will be, but hopefully soon. In the meantime, thank you guys so much for your patience.

Anyway, those are the only updates I have for now. On to the MMGM links!

If you would like to join in the MMGM fun, all you have to do is blog about a middle grade book you love on a Monday (contests, author interviews and whatnot also count--but are most definitely not required) and email me the title of the book you're featuring and a link to your blog at SWMessenger (at) hotmail (dot) com. (Make sure you put MMGM or Marvelous Middle Grade Monday in the subject line so it gets sorted accurately--and please don't forget to say what book you're featuring) You MUST email me your link by Sunday evening in order to be included in the list of links for the coming Monday. (usually before 11pm PST is safe--but if I'm traveling it can vary. When in doubt, send early!) (Also make sure the post you send me is a new post, not one from earlier in the week. I try to keep the content fresh)

If you miss the cutoff, you are welcome to add your link in the comments on this post so people can find you, but I will not have time to update the post. Same goes for typos/errors on my part. I do my best to build the links correctly, but sometimes deadline-brain gets the best of me, and I'm sorry if it does. For those wondering why I don't use a Linky-widget instead, it's a simple matter of internet safety. The only way I can ensure that all the links lead to safe, appropriate places for someone of any age is if I build them myself. It's not a perfect system, but it allows me to keep better control.

Thank you so much for being a part of this awesome meme, and spreading the middle grade love!

*Please note: these posts are not a reflection of my own opinions on the books featured. Each blogger is responsible for their own MMGM content and I do not pre-screen reviews ahead of time, nor do I control what books they choose. I simply assemble the list based on the links that are emailed to me.

  2. Totally understandable. As a Muslim living in America with immigrant parents, I am all three--scared, upset, and confused--and also pretty angry. Like, just...HOW? And also as a girl who's literally grown up with your characters (BELIEVE ME, I've been there since the BEGINNING. Like starting from early 2012 beginning), I see where this type of thing might be seen as insensitive. But I can say that any type of news that might be revealed during this time (title, cover, etc.) would be a HUGE cheer up for me. Like a light in this horrible Trump, racism, and discrimination-induced darkness. Also living in a Southern state, I've had people hate me, call me derogatory names, pull at my headscarf, and so much more, and it's scary. I've also had some love and support, but again, I live in a really Southern state. I think we all need to see something to love here, and you might be the one to provide it! If you really can't, I definitely see where you're coming from, and I totally get it! THANK YOU for all you've done already. Your writing has helped me drive myself away from the brink many a time! :) <333333

    1. First: **hugs**
Second: thank you so much for this comment--I'm so honored to know my books have helped at all. Thank you for reading and for being wonderful and for not letting some of the harsh realities of this world stop you from also seeing the joy and love. On your advice I did share the title yesterday--if you missed it, book 6 is going to be called: NIGHTFALL. And I'll share the cover as soon as I have it. Sending lots of love your way!

    2. I absolutely love love love the title and I'm sure that the cover will be gorgeous (I'm a huge fan of Jason Chan's work omg. I swear, if I ever get my work published, which has been a dream of mine since I started writing at age seven, I want him to illustrate the covers. The man has SERIOUSLY serious talent.) I'm immensely honored that you took my advice, considering this is probably the first time that someone has actually considered what I had to say. No one really listens to me, cause I've been horribly bullied since I was six. It isn't fun, I tell you. I'm surprised I even know how to love, considering all that. My faith gets me through it everyday. ALOT of books:one a day at least (Sophie gives me hope that one day it'll get better). Writing. Drawing. Music. Those kinda things. See? I'm human, too. Will others see it? Not sure, but I have faith.

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your books. I've reread each one so many times I've got them memorized. I'm making it my goal to meet you one day, but I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma, SOOOOOOOO...It hasn't really worked so far. ONE DAY. ONE DAY.

**MASSIVE STRANGLE HUG CAUSE YOU ARE THE SWEETEST**
I'M HAPPIER THAN I'VE BEEN IN A LONG TIME. SENDING LOVE TO YOU AND ALL THE ENLIGHTENED PEOPLE WHO SUPPORT US! <333333333333333

Yay-I love comments! Thank you so much! (But please remember to keep your comments spoiler-free. Also, I try to keep this a happy, positive place. Friendly debate is fine, but always be kind to each other). <3
