MMGM Shout Out: THE SHADOW THRONE (plus the 3/10/14 links)

Whew, last week was a WHIRLWIND, thanks to the launch of  LET THE STORM BREAK (and yes, that pun is very much intended). If you missed the contest I'm hosting to celebrate, make sure you check it out HERE.

But enough Shameless Shannon Self Promotion. For today, I've put together another quick MMGM shout out, this time for THE SHADOW THRONE, by Jennifer Nielson

I have been DYING for this book to come out--I am such a huge fan of this series! So you can imagine how much its killing me to have it sitting on my desk, taunting me like, "you can't read me right now because you're behind on your edits!" I swear, a huge part of my motivation to finish this revision--and quick--is this book. I NEED TO KNOW HOW IT ENDS! And if you haven't started this series yet, you need to. It's a bit like Megan Whalen Turner's THE QUEEN'S THIEF series, which is one of my favorites, and it's seriously addictive. I raced through books 1 and 2 in as many days, and have been waiting oh so impatiently for the final book ever since. COME ON EVERBLAZE--COOPERATE SO I CAN HAVE TIME TO READ.

If you would like to join in the MMGM fun, all you have to do is blog about a middle grade book you love (contests, author interviews and whatnot also count--but are most definitely not required) and email me the title of the book you're featuring and a link to your blog at SWMessenger (at) hotmail (dot) com. (Make sure you put MMGM or Marvelous Middle Grade Monday in the subject line so it gets sorted accurately) You MUST email me your link by Sunday evening in order to be included in the list of links. (usually before 11pm PST is safe--but if I'm traveling it can vary. When in doubt, send early!)

If you miss the cutoff, you are welcome to add your link in the comments on this post so people can find you, but I will not have time to update the post. Same goes for typos/errors on my part. I do my best to build the links correctly, but sometimes deadline-brain gets the best of me, and I'm sorry if it does. For those wondering why I don't use a Linky-widget instead, it's a simple matter of internet safety. The only way I can ensure that all the links lead to safe, appropriate places for someone of any age is if I build them myself. It's not a perfect system, but it allows me to keep better control.

Thank you so much for being a part of this awesome meme, and spreading the middle grade love!

*Please note: these posts are not a reflection of my own opinions on the books featured. Each blogger is responsible for their own MMGM content and I do not pre-screen reviews ahead of time, nor do I control what books they choose. I simply assemble the list based on the links that are emailed to me.

  1. I too really love Jennifer Nielsen's books! I'm excited for the next installment. :))

  2. I'm reading THE SHADOW THRONE right now! It's great. Thanks, as always, for the links.

  3. I have a MMGM that's not up there! Come on over to read about MY BASMATI BAT MITZVAH.

    1. Opps! I forgot to add blogspot AGAIN.

      It's really

  4. Wow. You are one busy lady, Shannon. I admire your energy. Thanks for all the great links.

  5. I JUST GOT MY LTSB SWAG IN THE MAIL!!!! Eeee! That was so fun! You're such a nice author to do that... And, oh my gosh, you live in Temecula (according to your return label)? I totally and completely grew up there. Sweeeeet! But also kinda weird. I mean, seriously, of all the places to be... it's not like it's the most happening place, you know? And now I'm rambling about my hometown, but I really wanted to say thanks! I had a migraine on the 4th and couldn't go to the launch at the Oceanside B&N (as if a migraine isn't bad enough on it's own!), and I was super bummed. So when I found my envelope in the mailbox, it made things a whole lot better :) So thanks! We fans truly do appreciate it! -Holly Empey

  6. Yay! I loved The Shadow Throne. I got an ARC from Scholastic and I adored it. Hope you love it too!

Yay-I love comments! Thank you so much! (But please remember to keep your comments spoiler-free. Also, I try to keep this a happy, positive place. Friendly debate is fine, but always be kind to each other). <3
