Shannon's mind blow of the week

What I realized today:

One year ago I was terrified that my book on submission would never sell and that my secret-book-in-progress would never be finished by when my agent had asked to see it.

One year from now both of those books will be on store shelves.

(CRAZY, right?)

So... clearly I worry about things unnecessarily
(shocking, I know)

Also--holy crap, what a difference a year makes!

So as I survive this month of crazy deadlines and crazy stressful things that are making me feel more than a little crazy, I'm going to try and remember that clearly if I just put my head down, dig deep and keep going I WILL get through--and that amazing things can happen from all that hard work.

(wow, was that all one sentence?)

*hums 'just keep swimming' as she gets back to work*

  1. You can do it! Look at what you've done so far. =o)

(And yeah, just keep swimming... words to live by.)

  2. aren't you happy you were wrong lol. your amazing:)

  3. I think as writes we lose sight of how much we can accomplish if we just stick to it. Inspiring post!

  4. It really is amazing to think about how much change we can see in our lives in only one year, isn't it? I'm so glad you kept at it. :-)

  5. You've had quite a year! And the next year's going to top it! YAY!!! :)

  6. I really needed this today...I'm kind of in the doubtful phase, and very ready for this year to make the difference :) Thanks for the inspiration!

  7. It is so amazing what can be accomplished in a year. CONGRATS and way to go!

  8. Love this! It's a great reminder that we worry about things that fate has other plans for. You rock, Shannon!

  9. Awww lovely Shannon!! You're adorable!! Take care

  10. I love the honesty in your posts! You give me hope and inspiration. Like the band Chicago :)

  11. Holy run-on sentences, Batman! lol. Congrats!

As a writer for children, I never fail to notice the difference a year makes. The difference between the end of elementary and the first year of junior high/secondary school or the end of high school and freshman year of university... INFINITE.

  12. You really are an inspiration--cue the music.

  13. Congratulations! Good things come to those who wait for the cheese!

  14. Just think how awesome of a year you're gonna have!

  15. You'll get through this month. I know it. Then you can tell us all how to get through those times too.

Yay-I love comments! Thank you so much! (But please remember to keep your comments spoiler-free. Also, I try to keep this a happy, positive place. Any arguing or intense debate--on any subject will be removed. Let's keep this a safe, fun space.
