Summeritis

I know I promised a more thought provoking and inspired post today guys--and I TRIED (really, I did). I even hopped around the blogosphere searching for inspiration. And you know what I noticed?

The blogosphere has a major case of summeritis.

Everywhere I went, bloggers were on hiatus, comment numbers were down--even most of you who commented yesterday agreed that blogging is kinda hard right now. I guess we're all busy with life and writing. Vacations are in the works. Kids are home from school. Or maybe we're just too tempted by the bright sunshine outside.

So you know what? I say--let's go enjoy it!

I will have a real post tomorrow (a Bookanista review even, with an awesome ARC contest you won't want to miss). But for today, let's take the day off. Soak up some sun. Down a few glasses of lemonade.

After all--summer will soon be over. Why not enjoy what little of it we can? Who's with me?

  1. Sounds like a good idea. I've noticed the same thing. Enjoy the day off.

  2. I thought it was just me! Good to know that maybe I didn't scare people off with my boringness :)

  3. I'm trying to get back in blogging mode while I am off for the summer. During the school year, I have so many things pulling at me, I put off blogging.

  4. I'm back to blogging after taking several weeks off (for the RWA conf and vacation). And even then, I'm not going to blog for as long as I do during the school year. I'm still editing, which is my first priority (other than the kids). And I need to finish/write my query for WriteOnCon. :)

  5. i was just talking about this on another blog. I'm kinda digging the quieter sphere. I can get a lot more writing done and not feel as bad about missing so many blogs

  11. Downing lemonade means I'd actually have to take the time to make it. I think I'll just hide inside until the cooler weather comes back. (That means anything under 90.) ():)

  12. I wish. The day job tends to frown on leaving the desk to go outside. But I do get off (hehe) at 3, and I'll be going out of town soon, too!

  13. That sounds like a great idea! I've been feeling guilty lately for not blogging more often, but no more! I'm going to enjoy my summer. :)

  14. It's so hot out, just going to work and back has been taking it out of me.

Though I've been trickling out a low wordcount everyday, I'm reading so much it's crazy. I know it's good for me, so I've given myself permission to be less productive while I finish the amazing ARCs I got at ALA.

Hope you're finding some time to relax!

  16. Good for you! Yes, let's all enjoy our summer while it's here. I'm glad to hear people are enjoying life out there; it makes our writing that much more rich, in the end. :)

Yay-I love comments! Thank you so much! (But please remember to keep your comments spoiler-free. Also, I try to keep this a happy, positive place. Friendly debate is fine, but always be kind to each other). <3
