POSSESSION LAUNCH WEEK--DAY THREE! (Prizes to be had!)

In case you missed my post on Friday, this is Elana Johnson's launch week! And to celebrate, of course we're giving stuff away!

I've teamed up with some awesome writer/bloggers and here's what we have in store for you:

And today *I'm* hosting the giveaway for two--yes, TWO--of those signed copies. Here's how this works.

Leave a comment on this blog post by 11:59 pm, PDT today, and you're entered to win a signed copy of POSSESSION. If you aren't sure what to say, you could answer this question: What is the one luxury you would refuse to give up if the government tried to ban it and take it away? I'll post the winner on Thursday, June 9th.

BUT WAIT, THERE IS MORE: We're giving away ANOTHER signed copy of POSSESSION on Twitter! Sometime today (probably, say, between 9:00 and 10:00 pm, EDT) I'm going to hop on over to Twitter, and I'm going to be looking for people who are using the hashtag: #taggedPOSSESSION. If I happen to see YOU using the hashtag, you might win! And it can't hurt to use the hashtag all day, yanno ;)

Meanwhile...if you're still not fully aware of how awesome this book is, here's a Shannon-Shame video I did for it... (And ask yourselves this--would I humiliate myself like this if I didn't REALLY love the book?)

(and sorry it looks so dark.)
(It was perfect in iMovie, but it looks really dark now that I've uploaded to YouTube...)

Good luck in the contest!

  1. It's awesome to see so much support for another writer!

I think it'd be really hard for me to live without my computer or the internet.

  2. Well I definitely have to enter! I'm so excited about POSSESSION, and even more thrilled to see all the support and talk about the book all over the place! This is such a great community. :)

As for luxury, I'd probably be bummed if I didn't have my laptop anymore. I use it so much that having it suddenly banned would be rather devastating!

  3. I'd love an autographed copy!

I would find it hard to live with out books...what a crappy world that would be!

    Thanks, Shannon!

  4. Awesome how everyone is supporting Elana's debut. I'm not entering the contest. I'm giving away 3 copies of her book too.

  5. I'm loving all of these giveaways! Maybe one of these days I'll manage to snag a copy...

I'm waaaay too connected to my laptop, but my books are probably the luxury that I'd be least willing to give up.

  7. Haha! You always cheer me up. I would never give up reading (of any kind be it banned books or not). Nope, can't take away my books. They are the only thing that keeps me sane!

  10. That's such a HARD question! I definitely don't think I could give up the internet (though that's more of a necessity than a luxury to me)!

    ReplyDelete
  11. What is the one luxury you would refuse to give up if the government tried to ban it and take it away?

It would probably the Media! I believe TV, Internet are a luxury in the society that I seriously don't want to give up!!

What luxury couldn't I give up? My CELL PHONE! It would be horrible to not have it!

  18. I am so excited about this book!!! One luxury I would fight for? Hmmmm...
Right now I would have to say hot baths. I would be really peeved if someone took those away.

  32. I think I'd seriously throw down if anyone tried to take the internet away from me now. Maybe if this was like 10 years ago and I barely knew what the internet was, but now, it's too late. I'm hooked.

    Thanks for hosting this giveaway!

  33. Yay for Possession! Thanks for the giveaway!

I had to send my computer in to be fixed a little while ago. So, while it was gone, I had limited access to the internet. I was kind of freakin' out a tad bit. Lol. I think not having books might be worse though. I would be thoroughly rotting my bring with tv and movies without them.

  39. Ohh! What a fun contest! And I'm so happy that this book is getting promoted; it looks fabulous.

Even though it would be hard for me to give up my computer, it would be worse if I had to give up my books on paper. E-books are fab, but I need my paper books!

  52. I absolutely REFUSE to give up duct tape. You can try to pry my cold dead claws off of it, but you won't be successful. You see, I have taped the roll to my body with 1,000-mile-an-hour duct tape and it ISN'T going anywhere. They repaired choppers in Vietnam with this stuff (thus the name). It's KILLER!

And now I'm taking my duct tape purse and my duct tape wallet and going to the store...for more duct tape.

  54. I won't say books, because those are necessities to me, so the luxury I would refuse to give up would probably - wait for it, vitamins/supplements. Lame I know.

  56. This book has been at the top of my list since I did a dystopian book club with my students (unfortunately it didn't come out in time for this school year). The luxury I couldn't live without - the internet!

  57. This is like the thrid post I've read from authors supporting each other. I love that, it's wonderful to see such awesome support. It's put a spring in my step...which I kind of need, because we're seriously lacking some sun in Western Washington.

Just one luxury, huh? Power. I like a power outage once in a great while. So long as it doesn't last more than a day, then it's not fun anymore.

  70. When we read "Fahrenheit 451" in school, it gave me recurrent nightmares. Not scary ones, but ones that would leave me restless and befuddled. I guess I could never wrap my head around the thought that there could be a world without books. Even if the world banned the internet, books would always be a portal for you to become aware of other worlds, places, people, etc. I could simply NEVER live without books. But that's only if we're speaking about possessions - I wouldn't give up my freedom, even for books, though.

Thank you SO much for this amazing giveaway opportunity! It's amazing to see such support for a writer. As an aspiring author, it gives me tons of hope and encouragement! :D
