Have you had a cupcake today?

It's here! It's here!

Lisa Schroeder's fabulous new middle grade novel, It's Raining Cupcakes hits stores today, and I have no doubt the story will be as delicious as the cover!

I've been waiting for this book for months, and in honor of its release I intend to treat myself to a cupcake or three.

Anyone care to join me?

What's your favorite flavor--if you can pick a favorite? ;)

  6. Chocolate has to be my favorite. I'm not a big fan of icing, but cream cheese icing is the best.

  10. Mmm, red velvet! Love cream cheese frosting. We have two Kupcake Factories nearby. It's torture!

  11. Red velvet or German Chocolate. Cream cheese frosting or nutty coconut frosting... It's hard to narrow it down. Frosting is the winner for me.

  14. mmmm....cupcakes!! :) I'd buy that book just based on the general yumminess of the cover alone.

I think I'd have to choose a swiss chocolate cake with buttercream icing. Yummy!!! I think I just gained five pounds thinking about it. :/

  19. Wow--so many comments! Sorry for not replying to them sooner, it's been a crazy day.

    Okay, here goes!

Tricia: LOL. Chocolate is my favorite too. Though all the others are such close seconds it's almost a tie.

    Sarahjayne: heh--chocoholics unite!

Beth: Mmm--another awesome choice. And yes, sprinkles are a MUST!

    Jemi: I agree--Congrats Lisa!

Jen: I love the bookstore too. And yay--I'm not the only one gorging on calories!

Brizmus: Don't they? How come when I bake they never look like that?

Noelle: Mmm...cream cheese icing is one of my favorites. *drools*

Storyqueen: Yes, I LOVE red velvet. it's such a unique flavor.

Southern Princess: Wow, those are hard to choose between. And no, I'm not going to sprinkles, but I have been there and. Oh. My. God. Yum!

    Marybeth: :)

Catie: Mmm, I've never had a milk chocolate cupcake--but I think I might have to try one. That sounds amazing.

Tere--Ooo-that WOULD be torture! How do you stand it?

Kayleen: Ooo, that does sound good. And I am partial to frosting as well.

Sarah: Hey, cupcakes have eggs, flour, milk. That sounds like the breakfast of champions to me! ;)

Steph: How do you ever go to bed without eating a cupcake? Actually, how do you ever enter your room without eating a cupcake? You must have TREMENDOUS willpower.

Rhonda: LOL. Then I've probably gained 20 pounds because I've been thinking about cupcakes ALL day!

Nisa: LOL, losing weight didn't used to be my problem. And then I started editing. The editing-is-stressful diet works wonders.

Amber: Ooo, yellow cake is another great choice. And often under appreciated, I think!

Lisa: Aw, it's the least I can do. Happy release day and I hope you're eating a cupcake in celebration!

Robyn: Aw, sorry. BUT--as a person who is used to dieting, I must say, I'm a BIG believer in rewarding good behavior to keep yourself going. So if you've been good for a few days, I think you've earned yourself a cupcake. Tell that to your conscience!

  20. I want to eat the delicious red velvet cupcakes right now...and if the cute little cupckae shop was open and if I had a license and a car, I would SO go there and buy a red velvet cupcake right now...note to self, get a license or a boyfriend who can drive.
